Allergy Testing
Did you know allergies are the #1 underlying cause of asthma and eczema? We help you get tested to see what pesky allergens might be triggering those frustrating symptoms or unexplained fatigue.
We’ve partnered with your employer to offer mobile allergy testing. For your convenience, our health professionals will come to you. The test will be performed in the comfort of your home and your results will be sent to you electronically. You’ll have an opportunity to chat with one of our allergy and asthma specialists over telemedicine after your allergy test.
Our allergy testing is a covered benefit under your Pacific Blue Cross plan and there will be no cost to you.

Frequently Asked Questions:
What should I expect once I schedule my allergy test?
Once you schedule your allergy test, our team will circle back to confirm a 30-minute time window where our clinician will arrive at your specified address. We’ll also send you a link to complete our medical intake electronically ahead of your visit.
What should I expect during my mobile testing visit?
Our provider will arrive during your confirmed window. Testing will take 15-30 minutes, depending on how many patients need to be tested. During the visit, you can exepect our provider to:
- Have an informed consent discussion around skin testing for allergies with you
- Disinfect your foream, and draw a grid with a pen
- Place a single drop of allergen onto your forearm
- Prick your skin with a small needle, just deep enough to puncture the skin
- Identify allergic reactions that indicate a positive test result
- Discuss your results with you and upload them into our portal for next steps.
What kind of allergy test will be administered?
Our mobile testing team offers the gold standard in allergy testing — Skin Prick Testing. This type of testing is the same test offered at most allergists’ offices and is suitable for the majority of patients. Our mobile providers undergo our comprehensive training program and annual exams to ensure allergy testing offered conforms to our strict standards of care.
Skin testing is considered to be extremely low-risk, with no fatalities reported to date when performing testing under modern procedures. In an external study across 55,000 patients, only 1 case of anaphylaxis requiring Epinephrine intervention was reported. Upon further review, this patient suffered from a pre-existing health condition that would have disqualified them from skin testing under our testing protocols.
The majority of risks associated with skin testing for allergies has to do with patient eligibility which is why working with a provider who has been certified by Biscuit Health is extremely important.
What happens after my allergy test?
After your test, our provider will review the results with you and upload them into our online portal to generate a report. This report will explain your test results and treatment options. You’ll also have the option to schedule a 15-minute virtual consult with one of our allergy specialists if you have any further questions about your test results or treatment options.
How does treatment work?
Biscuit Health uses Sublingual Immunotherapy (SLIT) to help patients overcome their allergies. SLIT has been used effectively for over 30 years in Europe and the USA for long-term treatment of allergies. Similar to allergy shots, SLIT targets the source of allergy symptoms by exposing the body to small amounts of allergens, retraining the body’s immune responses over time. Our treatment is formulated in a Health Canada Approved facility before being shipped directly to the patients’ home. Our allergy experts provide 24/7 support digitally to patients.
Our patients have seen a reduction in symptoms (allergies, asthma, eczema) by up to 60% within their first 6 months of treatment, and over 91% of our patients see complete control of their allergies after 2 years of treatment.
